Critical Studies in Intelligence, Technologies and Securities (CINTELL)

Programme

CINTELL is a 2-year hybrid Master programme, where students will divide their time between the three institutions forming part of our consortium.

It offers students an option between two tracks:

Track 1

This track is for applicants who wish to pursue a career in governmental or private agencies in the field of security and intelligence as well as related fields. It emphasises inter and multi-disciplinary approaches that merge security, intelligence, law and politics in order to create well-rounded experts which can tackle a wide number of security challenges. This track is designed to provide students with a wide range of skills ranging from intelligence collection and analysis, strategic communication, threat assessment, evaluation of information and policy development, as well as a strong understanding of multiple technologies employed for intelligence collection and analysis and the ability to carry out a human rights impact and design appropriate human rights safeguards.

Track 2

This track is for applicants who wish to pursue a career in supranational and nongovernmental organisations. It uses inter and multi-disciplinary methods to provide students with a wide set of skills, from the ability to devise open-source research and data collection by employing multiple technological tools, to preparing analyses in written, oral, visual and multimedia formats, carrying out fact-checking activities and devising strategic communication plans. The track also focuses on building a strong understanding of emerging technologies and their potential applications for information collection and analysis as well as a deep understanding of human rights.
