This course provides an in-depth understanding of intelligence analysis processes, focusing on the intelligence cycle, cognitive biases, and analytical methodologies. Students will explore the role of intelligence in both public and private sectors, distinguishing between different types of intelligence analysis, such as descriptive, explanatory, and predictive. The course also covers essential research methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative approaches, statistical tools, and structured analytic techniques. Additionally, students will develop skills in team-based analytic procedures, hypothesis generation, and ethical decision-making in intelligence and security contexts.
At the end of the course, Students will:
- Analyze the intelligence cycle and its key processes, including planning, collection, analysis, and dissemination.
- Differentiate between various intelligence analysis types and apply them to real-world security challenges.
- Utilize structured analytic tools and methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative techniques, to develop intelligence products.
- Demonstrate ethical reasoning, self-management, and teamwork in intelligence and security operations.
